Scott Thompson received the maximum 10 votes from the coaches in the round 14 demolition of Essendon.

The midfielder had 34 possessions, eight tackles, six inside 50s and kicked a goal in a best on ground performance.

Kurt Tippett received eight votes for his six goal haul while Nathan van Berlo (27 possessions) and Richard Douglas (27 possessions, six clearances) received four votes each.

Simon Goodwin still leads Adelaide’s voting after 14 rounds with 33 votes, ahead of Thompson on 20 and Douglas on 19.

In the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, head coaches vote each week on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis. Coaches vote only on their own matches, but may vote for players on the opposing team.
