Hart opts for surgery
Ben Hart’s testimonial dinner will still be held on Saturday, June 3, despite today’s decision to put a plate into his broken forearm.
Hart is still expected to be sidelined for about eight weeks but the club’s medical advice is there will be less risk of repeating the injury on his return if a plate is inserted.
“It would have been good to avoid surgery but I the experts have told me that if I want to come back to football after eight weeks, it will be safer to have a plate in the arm,” Hart said.
On Monday, Ben and the club agreed to shift the date of his testimonial game from June 2 to August 13. However, his testimonial dinner will go ahead, as planned, on Saturday June 3.
The Adelaide Football Club is honouring Hart – the first Crows footballer to play 300 AFL games – with a Testimonial Year this season.
The Testimonial Dinner at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre will be a highlight of the social calendar as we celebrate a magnificent career.
Past and present players, coaches and officials will gather to pay tribute to Hart and the club invites members and supporters to share the event.
There will be some special guests and great entertainment. Tickets are limited so reserve your seat through the club on 84406666. Bookings close at noon on Monday May 29.
