Sam Jacobs will play his first AFL game for the Crows against his former team Carlton in Saturday night’s round five clash at Etihad Stadium.
The 203cm ruckman, who sought a trade to the Crows at the end of last season after playing 17 AFL games for the Blues, has been called into the 22 to replace Ivan Maric.
Richard Tambling and Michael Doughty are also back for Adelaide’s first interstate trip of the 2011 premiership season, replacing Matthew Wright and Myke Cook.
Tambling, impressive in his first two games for the Crows, sat out the Showdown after rolling an ankle at training last Thursday. Doughty has missed two games since copping a corked thigh in the opening round win against Hawthorn.
Adelaide has a light run on Friday morning before travelling to Melbourne later in the day.
