Chris Knights and Jason Porplyzia are on track to play their first games of their 2012 campaign.

Porplyzia (corked calf) and Knights (hamstring) should return to full training this week and be available for selection for the Crows’ NAB Cup game against Brisbane Lions in Alice Springs on Saturday night.

Brodie Martin has overcome a hamstring strain and could also be considered.

Adelaide escaped from Sunday’s opening NAB Cup games without any serious injuries, but coach Brenton Sanderson said the Club was considering resting some senior players this weekend.

At this stage Adelaide can play up to 26 players on Saturday night.

With a maximum temperature of 26C (and rain) forecast for Alice Springs, it is unlikely the AFL will need to invoke its heat rule.

Adelaide has a light recovery/skills session on Tuesday from about 10am and then Wednesday’s main session is closed.

The team also has a light run planned for Alice Springs, at 6pm on Friday night.

Adelaide’s next home NAB Cup game is against Collingwood on Friday, March 10, at AAMI Stadium.
