Find out more about the Adelaide Football Club’s magnificent new training and entertainment facility, scheduled to open in mid-October.

Below are 19 facts and insights about the new facility, as published in the August edition of The Pride magazine.

1) The top floor of the venue will be called The 19th Floor – to formally recognise the support from our members and the difference the 19th Man makes to our team performance both on and off the field.

2) The Shed floor will be made of the same material used for Olympic indoor sports and has a ‘memory’ so returns to its original shape immediately after any impact.

3) Players will all be able to warm up on the new Shed floor, with a 65m kicking distance from corner to corner.

4) Skill development will be possible for the entire team - allowing the team to practise structures and set up as if they are on the field thanks to the 2000sqm available space.

5) A 40m running track with lights and in-built stopwatch will be on the Shed Floor outside The Toyota Room.

6) The 19th Floor overlooks the Shed floor, which will create a new viewing platform to watch the team warm up – all included in our new hospitality packages for match days.

7) A replica locker room on the 19th Floor will be opened to the public, and we encourage you learn more about each player who used the locker over the years with the video and photos inside each one.

8) Crows Nest members and school groups will be able to participate in footy clinics on The Shed floor throughout the year.

9) A 75m balcony will stretch the entire length of the facility on The Shed Floor level overlooking Max Basheer Reserve – grab a coffee and watch training from your bird’s eye view.

10) Claude’s Nest will be a resource and education centre for schools to visit the Crows and learn how they compare in height, strength and ability to the players!

11) Children’s birthday parties will be held on Sunday mornings, for up to 20 children with a visit from Claude the Crow and footy activities included.

12) Claude the Crow will hold footy clinics on the Shed Floor throughout the year as part of the Schools in Crows program.

13) Casual match day corporate hospitality packages will be available in four new venues within the facility for the 2010 season and beyond.

14) A kick and a catch on The Shed Floor is part of a new match day experience package.

15) Selection Table Cafe will be open throughout the week and on match days – stay for lunch or a coffee after watching training. The cafe will be licensed.

16) There will be three new bars within the facility for post match celebrations – The Premiership Bar, the Patron’s Bar and The Captain’s Bar.

17) The mezzanine floor on the Southern end of the building will be open to the public as ‘Adelaide Fitness Solutions’ gym run by Crows player Brett Burton and sports scientist Dr Kevin Norton.

18) Special post-tour discounts will be available through CROWmania for anyone who joins us throughout the week.

19) The Honour Room overlooks The Shed Floor and can be hired for private catered functions for you and 19 of your footy mates.
