The return of defender Nathan Bock from a serious back injury continued on Saturday when he played a full game in the SANFL reserves.

Bock, who ended his four month stint on the injury list the previous week when he played a half for Sturt reserves, returned to his home club Woodville-West Torrens on Saturday and was high among the Eagles’ best against Central.

He spent most of the game at half-back but also kicked a goal.

Midfielder Chris Knights had a brilliant start to the league game at Woodville but only lasted seven minutes before injuring the same quad he has had problems with in recent weeks. In that brief time on the ground he kicked two goals from three kicks.

For Central, Jonathon Griffin played about 30 minutes as the second ruckman while Alan Obst was serviceable in defence.

Ruckman John Meesen played a solid game for Norwood in its win over West Adelaide. He had 21 possessions, took eight marks and had 16 hit-outs.

Glenelg had the bye.
