The Crows dominated the first Showdown final between the South Australian AFL clubs.

Ranked at No 9 in the Crows Greatest Moment series, 2005 minor premiers Adelaide was staring at a quick exit from the final series after a narrow loss to St Kilda in the qualifying final.

But Adelaide bounced back the following week, smashing Port Adelaide by 83 points in the first semi-final.
