ADELAIDE is set to lay its cards on the table during Sunday's NAB Cup triple-header against the Power and Carlton, with coach Brenton Sanderson declaring there would be no holding back tactically.

"You'll definitely see the Crows playing how we want to play," he said.

"We're not going to take it any differently to how we've been preparing during the training sessions and I'm sure you'll see some differences to how the side played previously.

"We can't flirt with our form, we've got to start to play how we want to play."

Despite his admission that the club is close to playing the brand of football he wants, Sanderson said it would be difficult to take too much out of Sunday's matches given the length of the games.

"We probably won't see as much of the players as we wanted to, but we understand the first week's an opportunity to have a look at the whole squad that's fit," he said.

"We've got 33 players that we're going to have a look at but if it's a restricted game time and more subs then it might be hard to get a decent look.

"Weeks two, three and four is a better chance to prepare your side for round one."

Sanderson said despite the limited opportunities to observe his players in a competitive match on Sunday, a pre-season heavy on game simulation had the club in a good position a month out from the start of the season proper.

"This is, for us, week one of the NAB Cup, but we feel as though we've had a lot of exposure to match-like conditions previous to this week," he said.

"Probably 10 days before the Christmas break we started to play internal trials.

"We've had umpires out to a lot of our sessions and as much as we can we've tried to simulate match conditions even before this weekend."

Adelaide will play Carlton at 3.45pm on Sunday local time, before taking on the Power in the afternoon's third match, at 4.50pm.
