Shaun McKernan was one of South Adelaide’s best players despite their loss to Central District on Saturday.
Playing mainly as a forward, McKernan kicked four goals from seven attempts, had 11 possessions, and his contested marking and ruck work inside the forward 50 was strong. Myke Cook had 13 possessions on a wing for the Panthers.

Rookie Matthew Wright was also solid in the midfield. He ran hard all day, had 18 possessions and six marks and his skills were at a good standard.
In the Eagles win over Port Adelaide, Trent Hentschel played in defence and was better in the second half after a slow start. He finished with nine kicks, two handballs and two marks.
