Adelaide's playing squad will move to a temporary new home at AAMI Stadium when the Crows start their 2009 season training program on Thursday.

The players will use the visitors’ rooms on the members’ side of the stadium for the next two months while work continues on the redevelopment of the club’s training facilities next to Adelaide’s main office.

Although the overall project will not be completed until later next year, the players should be able to return to their renovated area by February.

International Rules representatives Nathan Bock and Scott Thompson are due back on November 27 but the other players will return on Thursday for testing, an introduction meeting and then a light football session on Max Basheer Reserve, from about 3.30pm.

On Friday morning, players will have a run at the Adelaide Uni grounds from 8am. There will also be a football session at Max Basheer Reserve on Saturday morning from 7am.

The pre-season program includes a number of football, weights, conditioning, recovery, skills and maintenance sessions. Starting next week there will be football sessions every Monday (Max Basheer Reserve), Tuesday (Norwood Oval) and Thursday (Max Basheer Reserve or Norwood) from about 9.30am and early morning conditioning sessions every Saturday at a variety of venues.

All Norwood Oval pre-season training sessions will be closed to the public and media.

The first block of pre-season training will be completed on Saturday, December 20. Players will return after the Christmas and New Year break on Monday, January 5.

Thursday’s first session will start the club’s countdown to the opening round of the 2009 premiership season in 135 days, when Adelaide takes on Collingwood at the MCG.
