Adelaide midfielder Simon Goodwin says he has 'no doubt' the Western Bulldogs will lift for Chris Grant's 300th AFL match on Saturday night - against the Crows at Telstra Dome.

"We will have to be focused and play our best to beat them," said Goodwin, who will be making his 150th AFL appearance.

"Chris Grant has been an outstanding player and I have no doubt the (Bulldog) players will lift for his milestone match.

"The Bulldogs have been playing some good footy. I don't think their position on the ladder (13th) reflects how they have been playing.

"It's still very early in the season and, even though we have won three in a row, we know playing the Bulldogs this week is a huge challenge.

"Our backline, led by Nathan Bassett, has been terrific. We have a good blend of youth and experience, and they are gelling together and starting to feel comfortable playing alongside each other."

Goodwin, originally from South Adelaide, said he felt 'privileged' to play 150 games for the Crows.

"It seems like a long time since my debut in round one of 1997 against Brisbane," he said. "I remember playing on Darryl White, injuring my quad and missing the next 14 weeks.

"It has been a terrific journey, with some great highs and not-so-memorable lows. Hopefully there are some more highs before my career is finished.

"The club has worked very hard over the past couple of years. We are now starting to see some exciting youngsters coming through and it is very invigorating for us older guys to see them developing.

"It does keep the mind sharp. Neil (Craig) has given me some different roles, which I'm enjoying. Each week presents a new challenge."

Stylish left-footer Goodwin, 28, ranks as one of Adelaide's finest players, with two AFL premierships (1997-98), a pre-season premiership (2003), two All-Australian jumpers (2000-2001) and a club-champion award (2000).
