Adelaide forward Scott Welsh has been given the green light to prepare to play this weekend.

Welsh, who has missed the entire NAB Cup series to rest a stress fracture in his leg, will join the main squad training sessions this week and should then be cleared to play an SANFL trial with West Adelaide.

The club's leading goalkicker in 2005 would then be considered for the round one AFL clash wth Collingwood on April 3.

Adelaide captain Mark Ricciuto will this week continue his program to return from a hamstring problem. If he can complete the training schedule he also could be available for round one.

Nathan Bock (back) is a chance to play in the SANFL this weekend.

So, too, is rover Hayden Skipworth, who rolled an ankle in the opening minutes of a trial with Woodville-West Torrens on Saturday.

And John Hinge, who has missed the past two NAB Cup games with a stress fracture in the foot, may also be cleared to play in the SANFL.

Ben Hudson (knee) and Jason Torney (quad) are the only senior-listed players who will definitely not be available for round one.

Scott Stevens made his return after shoulder surgery with West Adelaide's reserves on Saturday, while Jason Porplyzia (quad) played well in West's senior side.
