Meesen, who turns 20 on Tuesday, had an interesting duel with Sturt’s Power-listed ruckman Fabian DeLuca but was particularly impressive around the ground. He had 19 possessions and took 11 marks.
Jason Porplyzia also performed well for West Adelaide. After a slow start he dominated in the second and third terms on the way to collecting 30 possessions.
Rookie Adrian Bonaddio was back in West’s league side but was quiet after making a good start.
The Eagles’ Hayden Skipworth came in for some close attention against Glenelg but worked hard for his 17 possessions. For the Tigers, John Hinge was good in defence against a variety of opponents.
Ruckman Jonathon Griffin was named Central’s best in the reserves after collecting 27 possessions and 34 hit-outs. Chad Gibson, who has also missed a number of games through injury this season, was named best for Norwood’s reserves.
