Richard Tambling facing anxious wait from match review panel
By Matt Windley

RUNNING towards Adam Schneider from behind during the first quarter at AAMI Stadium, Adelaide defender Tambling scuffled with the Saint before elbowing him in the back of the head. Saints defender Zac Dawson jabbed Adelaide's Chris Knights to the solar plexus before the bounce and Crows forward Kurt Tippett did the same to Saints defender Sam Fisher in the second quarter. Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs' bump on St Kilda's Jason Gram collected the defender in the head, while Crows defender Graham Johncock could be investigated for his hit on Nick Riewoldt. Trying to spoil late in the third quarter, Johncock appeared to brace himself for the collision, but still collected Riewoldt in the head, causing the Saints' skipper blurred vision.

Embattled Saints face tough march

ST KILDA is confident Nick Riewoldt, Justin Koschitzke and Farren Ray will be available next week but Zac Dawson faces a nervous wait today ahead of the match review panel's findings from Saturday night's loss against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium. Of immediate concern ahead of next Monday night's clash against the Blues is the health and form of Riewoldt, who was concussed in the third term on Saturday in an accidental collision with Crow Graham Johncock. Dawson will be scrutinised for a jab to the mid-section of Crow Chris Knights, who briefly bent over in pain. Crows Richard Tambling and Sam Jacobs could also be cited on separate incidents.

Craig urges yes vote on oval

ADELAIDE Crows coach Neil Craig urged voters to forget emotion when deciding on the proposed $535 million redevelopment of Adelaide Oval. The redevelopment will return AFL matches to the inner-city venue, with both Adelaide and Port Adelaide clubs endorsing a ground-sharing arrangement with cricket. The Crows defeated St Kilda on Saturday night in front of more than 33,000 spectators at AAMI Stadium, with Craig conceding the crowd would have been larger at Adelaide Oval.

Crows continue Saints’ woes

ADELAIDE snapped its three-game slide with a convincing 19-point win over a struggling St Kilda outfit at Football Park on Saturday night. The Saints trailed by a game-high 36 points 10 minutes into the second stanza as Adelaide's Kurt Tippett dominated with four goals. He kicked three goals in the opening term as the Crows raced to a 4.3 to 0.6 quarter-time lead. Tippett nailed three early set-shot majors and, in the last term, put the nail in St Kilda's coffin with the last goal of the game. When first-gamer Jamie Cripps booted his second major and the initial goal of the last term, the Saints trailed by just three points. But Crow half-forward Chris Knights stunned St Kilda, snaring two goals in 60 seconds to return Adelaide to an ascendancy never relinquished on the way to their second triumph of the year

Crows hold on to vital points against Saints
By Jesper Fjeldstad

ADELAIDE is gradually rebuilding its season after high-octane but damaging 19-point win against St Kilda. The Crows played with unmatched pressure and presence but the fall-out will include a nervous wait on scans to key position backman Phil Davis, who appears to have dislocated his shoulder. The Crows dominated the Saints for the first half and made them look silly by moving the ball quickly enough to beat their press with pace for easy goals. The Crows had created enough breathing space through the efforts of the consistent Scott Thompson, the clunking marks and goals from Kurt Tippett and the endeavour of physicality of Johncock, Tambling and Richard Douglas. Dangerfield was a treat to watch as he had a purple passage in the third quarter. Their pressure was intense and revamped, starving St Kilda of easy ball and pressuring the Saints into errors.
