At 195cm, 97kg and as a key forward, new Crows rookie Adrian Bonaddio has a couple of obvious role models he would like to follow into the AFL.“Probably because of my body style, the Rocca brothers,” the former Port Melbourne teenager said after his first official training session with his new club. “I look at the way they play and the way they go about things.”But Bonaddio, who is staying with new team-mate Ian Perrie, understands there is plenty of work ahead if his AFL dream is to become a reality.“At the moment my focus is just to train hard and try to improve as much as I can,” he said. “I’m only thinking about that at this stage. I just want to get the best out of myself, to use the facilities and the coaching staff at Adelaide to become a better player.”Bonaddio has been in Adelaide since the November national draft and had no hesitation in accepting the opportunity to train with the Crows in the lead-up to Tuesday’s rookie draft.“I shouldn’t have any problems settling in and I think the other boys will be the same,” he said. “It’s a little bit daunting but you have got to do what you’ve got to do … it’s a chance with an AFL club and you’ve got to take it with both hands.”Adelaide’s other three rookies – Sacred Heart College products Brad Sugar, Tom Redden and Sam Elliott – attended the rookie training camp two weeks ago but also had their first football sessions with the main group.
