Crow ruckman Jonathon Griffin, expected to make his AFL debut next week, has been lucky to escape a serious car accident.

Griffin’s car was written off in a collision on Port Road on the way home from training on Wednesday afternoon and he did not attend the Crows’ season launch that night.

“I’m okay but it was a bit of a shock … I didn’t see it coming,” he said.

Griffin, who has partnered Ben Hudson in the ruck through the pre-season, was cleared to train with the squad on Thursday at Immanuel College.
