We were delighted to have over 40,000 at the game, following what had been a really difficult and demanding week for our Club.
It’s a wonderful reflection of the great support we have as a Club, that the 19th Man turned up in such great numbers. We have no doubt that we had the vast majority of supporters in the stadium, and they were loud and proud.
Despite some media negativity around crowds this year, the fact is that if we were to remove the Sydney game (which was bitterly cold and wet), our attendances overall would be up on last year!
With two home games remaining against excellent crowd drawing teams in Geelong and Richmond - our actual, aggregate attendance could well be up overall - and a real positive.
On another front, we will soon outline the process to be undertaken in finding a new Senior Coach. As we said last week, we’ll be doing everything possible to get the best person we can to replace Neil Craig, and will endeavour to let you know first of our plans.
In the meantime, we’ll get right behind Bicks - who’s really thrown himself into the challenge of the last month of the season!
