Tippett nominates Swans
Kurt Tippett wants to play for Sydney if a trade between the Crows and Swans can be struck
Tippett has accepted a conditional four-year contract with the Swans, which is subject to Sydney being able to satisfy Adelaide's trade demands for the key foward.
Adelaide list manager David Noble said the Crows would now focus on securing the best-possible outcome for the Club in the trade period, which starts on Monday and runs through until October 26.
"Now that we know Kurt's preferred club we can start considering the trade options available to us and start formal negotiations when the trade period opens on Monday," he said.
Tippett said his decision to join Sydney was based on football and lifestyle.
"It would have been easy to accept a generous five-year offer to stay in Adelaide, or something similar from the Gold Coast or Brisbane," Tippett said in a statement.
"But this was a combined football/lifestyle decision and the balance between the two. I was born in Sydney, I have a lot of friends and family there, and this offers me a chance to play football in a lifestyle which I really enjoy.
“I want to thank the Adelaide Football Club for the opportunity and support they’ve given me over the past six years. It is an outstanding Club and I’ve really enjoyed playing there. I wish Brenton Sanderson and the Club all the best for the future."
