Adelaide will have 34 players aged 23 years or under by round one of the premiership season, making its list one of the youngest in the league; but what does this mean for AFL Dream Team?

With the retirements of a number of senior players over the past few years, Adelaide’s young list is set to be unleashed in season 2012, putting dollar signs in the eyes of Dream Teamers.

Below afc.com.au takes a look at some of the young Crows players who are set to rocket in DT value this season:

Brodie Smith, Def ($261,800)
Smith played 14 games in his debut AFL season, impressing with his ball winning ability and composure at the elite level. The 20-year-old is listed as a DT defender, but he is likely to play predominantly through the midfield in 2012 and is sure to rack up some solid numbers. Early NAB Cup form against Carlton (33 pts) was outstanding.

Daniel Talia, Def ($261,100)
Broke through to play nine senior games in 2011, but was hampered by an Achilles injury. On the back of Talia’s solid pre-season training form and impressive round 1 NAB Cup performances, the 196cm tall looks set to play a key role in Adelaide’s defence this season.

Aidan Riley, Mid ($153,300)
Played five senior games for the Crows in 2011 and the signs looked good. Riley is impressive around the stoppages, knows how to win the football and has a real thirst for the contest. Will be pushing a strong case to feature in Adelaide’s midfield this season.

Sam Shaw, Def ($104,200)
Had his first hit-out for the Crows in the Club’s round one NAB Cup clash against Port Adelaide, after two injury interrupted seasons on Adelaide’s list. Showcased his courage and commitment in the opening minutes of the NAB Cup game against Port Adelaide, running back with the flight in a heavy contest. The 193cm Shaw has great versatility, as he can play a running role off half-back or as a key defender.

Jarryd Lyons, Fwd ($104,200)
The 19-year-old midfielder had a solid pre-season ahead of his second year on Adelaide’s list, putting on some considerable muscle and improving on his running ability. Senior coach Brenton Sanderson gave Lyons an opportunity to play in the midfield during the Crows opening NAB Cup match against Carlton and he showed some quality signs gathering five disposals.
