The Adelaide Football Club is helping launch a fundraising appeal to assist ill Melbourne-based recruiting officer Scott Aquilina.

Scott, 23, had a brain tumour removed earlier this month by world renowned surgeon, Dr Charles Teo.

A series of online auctions will be launched on Channel 9’s Footy Show, and on Fox Footy’s League Teams, tonight.

Items available include a framed Crows guernsey signed by the Club’s four 300-game players; dinner with Carlton stars Chris Judd and Marc Murphy; a round of golf with Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt; and a Footy Show table of ten.

A fundraising function will also be held at Westwaters Entertainment Complex, in Caroline Springs in Melbourne, on Thursday August 30.

Scott was diagnosed with a brain tumour four years ago after collapsing while playing for Deer Park Football Club. He had surgery at the time but a recent scan showed that the tumour had grown and needed to be removed.

Crows List Manager David Noble said: “We’ve had great support so far and have some fantastic  items, so we hope the efforts can help cover some of Scott’s substantial medical costs.”

Tickets to the function are $70 or $700 for a table of 10. A three-course meal will be provided as well as entertainment. Silent and live auctions will be held throughout the evening.
