Adelaide’s season-opener against Essendon at AAMI Stadium on Friday night is fast approaching a sell-out.
As of midday Wednesday, less than 2,000 tickets for the blockbuster match remained. Supporters are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to avoid disappointment at the gate.
Coach Brenton Sanderson said he wanted to see a packed out AAMI Stadium on Friday night.
“We’d love a sold-out crowd. The game is going to be red-hot from the opening bounce. Both teams like to put speed on the game, which makes for a great contest.
“I’m sure Essendon will come over and give us one heck of a game.”
The game, which starts at 8:10pm (SA time), is one of only two matches in week one of the split opening round. It also marks the start of Adelaide’s last season at AAMI Stadium ahead of the move to Adelaide Oval in 2014.
Gates open at 5:15pm, and the Shed will be open both before and after the game.
