The Crows have secured the signatures of veteran Brent Reilly, and up-and-coming players Tom Lynch and Cam Ellis-Yolmen.
Reilly, who enjoyed a career-best 2012 season, is poised to become a one-club player after agreeing to a new two-year deal. Promising defender Ellis-Yolmen has also signed for a further two years, while up-and-coming forward Tom Lynch has committed until the end of 2014.
General Manager of List Development and Strategy David Noble said, “The blend of the list is very healthy at the moment, so to have Brent’s experience, combined with Tom’s development and the exciting progression of Cam’s game is very important for the continued growth of our list.”
Reilly played all 25 games last season. In a permanent role across half-back, the 29-year-old excelled in his ability to read the play. He led Adelaide in marks and also ranked second in the AFL of all defenders for intercept possessions and intercept marks. He didn’t concede a goal in his last seven games and was recognised as one of the top 40 players in the competition, included in the All-Australian squad.
Recruited from the Calder Cannons with pick No.12 in the 2001 AFL National Draft, Reilly has played 186 career games to rank 13th in Adelaide’s all-time games record. He’s also kicked 52 goals.
Lynch, 21, has played eight games for the Club since being recruited from St Kilda, where he played six games, at the end of the 2011 season. At 191cm and 88kg, the first-round draft selection (No.13 in 2008) has played as a forward for Adelaide, but has the capacity to play in a variety of roles.
Ellis-Yolmen, 20, is yet to make his AFL debut, but is regarded as an exciting future prospect.
Selected by Adelaide with pick No.64 in the 2011 AFL National Draft, the 188cm, 89kg, utility impressed in his second pre-season at West Lakes and showed glimpses of his potential in the Club’s NAB Cup campaign.
