HAWTHORN will be without its captain Luke Hodge for Friday night's clash with St Kilda after the 29-year-old had surgery to repair a fractured thumb on Monday.

 

Hodge suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Saturday's 41-point loss to Richmond.

 

He is expected to miss one to two weeks, placing him in doubt for the round 21 blockbuster against Collingwood.

 

Hawthorn football operations manager Chris Fagan said the fracture was "minor".
