North Adelaide has rushed Lewis Johnston back into its SANFL side, despite the key forward missing more than two months with a knee injury.
Johnston, who kicked 14 goals in five games with North at the start of the season, has been named at centre half-forward for Sunday’s clash with the Eagles at Woodville.
His opponent may be Crows team-mate Luke Thompson. Another Crow, Jared Petrenko, will front for the Eagles after recovering from a shoulder injury.
Sam Siggins, Adelaide’s first selection at the 2012 national draft, is a chance to make his league debut for North after being named in a squad of 23.
Mitch Grigg (Norwood) and Jarryd Lyons (Glenelg) will stage a midfield battle at Norwood Oval tonight. Sam Shaw (ill) is unavailable for the Tigers.
Ian Callinan and Ben Dowdell will line up for Central District against West at Richmond Oval on Saturday,
But the biggest collection of Crows will be on show at Noarlunga on Saturday afternoon. Sturt has named Angus Graham, Sam Kerridge, Rory Atkins and may have Richard Tambling, who was named as an emergency by the Crows. Rookie Tim McIntyre will miss with a hamstring strain. South may have David Mackay and Kyle Hartigan, also named as Crows emergencies.
Dylan Orval (Central District), Nick Joyce and Cam Ellis-Yolmen (Eagles) are playing in the reserves.
Port Adelaide has the bye.
