Crow Richard Douglas has been included in Mike Sheehan’s top 50 players of 2013.

Douglas didn’t feature in Sheehan’s pre-season top 50, but was selected at No.46 in the respected Herald Sun journalist’s end-of-year list following a superb season. His best-ever ranking is No.37 after his best-and-fairest winning year of 2010.

The 26-year-old’s performance in 2013 saw him nominated for All-Australian selection and also finish runner-up in Adelaide’s Club Champion award.

Douglas, who played every game, ranked second at Adelaide in total disposals (501) and used his possessions to great effect, involved in more scores than any other Crow (169) - ranked 12th in the AFL.

The hard-working midfielder kicked 20 goals to finish fourth in the Club’s goalkicking. He also generated 21 goal assists (ranked eighth in the AFL) and laid 86 tackles behind only Scott Thompson at Adelaide.

Sheehan will reveal his top 30 players of 2013 in the Herald Sun in the coming days.
