Wingman David Mackay will need to prove he’s recovered from a concussion to play in Balfours Showdown XXXVII at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
Mackay was substituted at half time of Adelaide’s clash with Essendon after receiving an accidental boot to the head.
Utility Ricky Henderson will also face a fitness test this week. In his second SANFL game back from a broken ankle, Henderson suffered a corked thigh and watched the second half of Adelaide’s thrilling win over North Adelaide from the bench.
Exciting forward Charlie Cameron, who has missed the past two games with groin soreness, could return this weekend if he completes training. Rising Star runner-up Brad Crouch is available for selection after serving a one-match ban SANFL for striking, while forward Tom Lynch impressed in his SANFL comeback from a fractured jaw at Prospect Oval on Sunday.
Patrick Dangerfield sustained a knock to his leg against the Bombers, but was able to play out the game and will line up against Port Adelaide.
Defender Sam Shaw (hamstring) and midfielder Cam Ellis-Yolmen (finger) are likely to spend another week on the sidelines. Forward Jared Petrenko is a month away from a return from a stress fracture in his leg, while Lewis Johnston is still recovering from surgery to repair a tendon in his hand.
Captain Nathan van Berlo has started running outside and remains hopeful of a return late this season.
The Crows will hold an open training session at Adelaide Oval from 10:00am on Saturday. The light session will run for approximately one hour.
