Scott Thompson and David Mackay are hoping to be fit for Adelaide’s next game against Collingwood in a fortnight.
Thompson was substituted at three-quarter time of the loss to Hawthorn on Friday night because of back/hamstring tightness. Mackay, who also has a minor hamstring complaint, missed the Hawks clash. Adelaide has this weekend off as part of the AFL’s split round, meaning the key pair has nearly two weeks to recover from their respective injuries.
Forwards Charlie Cameron and Jared Petrenko, and young midfielder Sam Kerridge could also be available for selection next week.
The Club has adopted a conservative approach to exciting 19-year-old Cameron, who has missed the last five games because of groin soreness. Kerridge has rested a sore foot for the last three weeks, while Petrenko hasn’t played since May because of stress fractures in his leg.
The players and coaches will have four days off this week before returning to prepare for the Pies.
Members and supporters are invited to attend a school holiday open training session at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday (July 16) from 10:00am. More details are here.
