The Adelaide Oval is already being hailed by many as the best stadium in Australia.

Now, the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (SMA) and the Adelaide and Port Adelaide football clubs have joined forces to ensure Adelaide Oval becomes known as the most fan-friendly stadium in the country.

SMA, Crows and Power executives today launched the #everyoneiswelcome campaign which includes:

  • A new Code of Conduct for anyone visiting the Adelaide Oval;
  • New codes of conduct for members and supporters of both the Crows and Power;
  • #everyoneiswelcome branding throughout the stadium;
  • Increased visibility of the existing 0400 TELL US bad behaviour number;
  • Communication to all Oval, Crows and Power members; and
  • New pre-game videos by both the Crows and Power.

“This a huge opportunity to capitalise on the way Adelaide Oval is being viewed nationally, and we need everyone’s help,” SMA CEO Andrew Daniels said.

“That means having an environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of what team they support. We can all be loud and passionate – but we do so while being respectful of others and the club, the home ground, the city and state we all represent.

“The message is simple – everyone is welcome at the Adelaide Oval, so if you see bad behaviour tell us and we will take action.”

The codes of conduct provide clear guidance around acceptable behaviour. If anyone is evicted, they will not only face the prospect of a three-month venue ban but also the potential of further sanctions from their club.

Adelaide Football Club Chief Executive Steven Trigg said visiting Adelaide Oval should be a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

“The crowds so far at Adelaide Oval have generally been very well behaved, and that’s something we want to see continue,” he said.

“Adelaide Oval is a world class stadium and everyone is welcome. No matter what colours or scarf you wear, or whether you live here in South Australia or interstate. We want our members and football fans in general to barrack hard, and do so in the right spirit.”

The campaign officially commences with this Saturday’s game between the Crows and North Melbourne.
