The AFL has conceded Rory Sloane's third-quarter goal for Adelaide against Richmond last Saturday night was incorrectly overturned.
The League responded to the Club's 'please explain' over the disallowed goal on Monday, telling Adelaide the wrong decision was made.
Sloane reduced the margin to 19 points when he dribbled the ball through, only for the major to be overruled before play was restarted in the middle of the ground.
Video replays didn't appear to conclusively show the ball scraping the post, as required under the video review system to overturn the goal umpire's original decision.
As well as questioning how the decision was arrived at, the Crows argued it was unfair for AFL grounds around the country to have varying levels of technology available to make such calls.
Since Round 12, goal-line cameras have been used at the MCG and Etihad Stadium to help with video reviews. The cameras are not used at any other grounds.
Crows midfielder Richard Douglas was convinced Sloane's attempt was a goal and said Richmond's players shared his view.
Douglas said the decision ultimately had very little impact on his side's nine-point loss to the Tigers – only robbing it of a small amount of momentum.
"It was confusing, I was back in the centre preparing for a centre bounce ... I just heard the umpires saying 'We're asking for a review' and none of the Richmond players had remonstrated at that stage," Douglas said.
"All us players out on the field, including the Richmond players, thought it was a goal and the umpire initially called it a goal as well.
"It doesn't have too much of a bearing on the outcome, we got outplayed throughout the night."
Douglas said the playing group had moved on from last Saturday night's disappointing loss to Saturday afternoon's contest against North Melbourne in Tasmania.
The Crows have won their past three against the Kangaroos and Douglas insisted his sights were still set on a finals campaign.
"We can't afford to look back, we're still in the race for the finals, we need to win this week to give ourselves the best opportunity," he said.
"We've got a pretty good record against them over the last few years, I think we match up well.
"We know their game pretty well.
"I think they're in the finals now so they'll want to be playing some good footy ... it's a massive game for us and I'm sure it's going to be on."
