Mobile defender Sam Gilbert has been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Adelaide with a reoccurring foot injury.
St Kilda has recommended Gilbert seek medical advice after suffering the injury in the final quarter of the Saints’ Round 22 match against Richmond.
It was a recurrence of the foot injury that sidelined the 28-year-old earlier in the season. Gilbert will now meet with Sydney-based surgeon Kim Slater on the best way forward for the veteran.
Gilbert has managed just six matches in 2014 at an average of 12 disposals a game.
