Melbourne midfielder Jack Viney has been charged with rough conduct for a collision that left Crows forward Tom Lynch with a fractured jaw at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
The matter has been directly referred to the Tribunal for its determination. Viney cannot accept an early plea on this matter.
Lynch was hit front-on by Viney early in the opening term of the match, sandwiching him between Viney and Melbourne defender Alex Georgiou. The clash left both Lynch and Georgiou subbed to be assessed for concussion.
Georgiou returned to the field but Lynch was subbed out and taken to hospital where scans revealed the break. Lynch will miss the next 4-6 weeks as a result of the injury.
