Adelaide’s non-selected players have gone down swinging against the Power in a scratch match held ahead of Showdown XLVIII.
On Saturday afternoon, Port Adelaide's reserves claimed an 18-point victory as showers intermittently drenched an empty Adelaide Oval.
Scores were level at the first break - 2.3 (15) - with Adelaide's goals coming from Shane McAdam and Elliott Himmelberg.
A rain soaked second term, however, finished with Port Adelaide on top at half-time.
The Power booted the only two goals of the third term and entered the final quarter with a neat three goal lead - 5.6 (36) to 2.6 (18).
Two points each in the final 16 minutes gave Port Adelaide the win - 5.8 (38) to 2.8 (20).
Young forward McAdam looked lively throughout the match, pushing hard in the forward 50 and keeping pressure on Port Adelaide’s defenders.
Myles Poholke and Jordan Gallucci impressed in the midfield with Kieran Strachan competing well in the ruck.
Harry Schoenberg and Ronin O’Connor also showed flashes of their potential when given a run closer to the ball.
Down back, Will Hamill was a rock in defense and combined well with draft partner Lachie Sholl and veteran Bryce Gibbs.
Port Adelaide forward Wylie Buzza booted two goals for the Power.
Midfielder Patrick Wilson suffered a dislocated shoulder and will have scans to assess on Monday.
