For the second year running, Crows co-captain Chelsea Randall has been voted by her peers as the AFLW’s Most Courageous player.
Randall, 26, was bestowed the honour at the AFLW Players' MVP Awards in Melbourne on Monday.
The respected utility was a runaway winner of the AFLW Players’ Most Courageous Award with 90 votes – more than double that of second placed Courtney Gum (35) from Greater Western Sydney.
Randall routinely inspired teammates and left fans holding their collective breath with her want for the ball, and blatant disregard for her own safety.
One of Randall’s many brave acts for the season – a strong mark going back with the flight of the ball against Fremantle – is a finalist for Mark of the Year.
Randall (128 votes) also finished third in the AFLW Players’ MVP behind Gum (219) and Melbourne star Karen Paxman (150). See all of Adelaide’s MVP Awards nominees
It’s further recognition of Randall’s brilliant 2018 season.
Last week, the premiership player polled 162 of a possible 168 votes to claim her first Crows Club Champion award. The West Australian also took out the Club’s Players’ Player award for a second-consecutive year.
Included in the extended squad, Randall is tipped to earn back-to-back All Australian selections at the W Awards on Tuesday night.
Other awards presented on Monday were the AFLW Players’ Best Captain Award, which was won by Melbourne’s Daisy Pearce, and the AFLW Players’ Best First-Year Player Award which went to young Collingwood star Chloe Molloy.

MVP Voting Process
MVP voting is a two-stage process, beginning with each player voting for the three teammates they consider to have been the most valuable this season. Each club’s votes are then tallied to form a nomination list comprising 54 players across the 18 teams.
In the second round of voting, all players vote for their MVP on a 3, 2, 1 basis from the nominees of the 17 other clubs. The votes are tallied and the player with the highest score wins the honour of MVP. Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.
A similar process is followed for Best First Year Player, Most Courageous, but every captain is automatically nominated for the Best Captain Award.
