Adelaide captain Rory Sloane believes a number of his young teammates could warrant a debut in Showdown 48 on Saturday.
The Crows side will be announced on Thursday evening with Sloane set to play game 201.
“There’s definitely strong candidates for a debut,” Sloane told the media on Tuesday.
“A lot of guys are in incredible nick… the guys who went up to the Barossa came back in amazing condition.
“Lachie Sholl, Will Hamill, Ben Keays, Shane McAdam looks sharp… (there are) certainly some guys pushing for selection."
Sloane also threw his support behind young midfielder Chayce Jones after the 20-year-old “stepped it up a notch”.
“He’s starting to fill out and look like he’s ready to play a lot more footy,” Sloane said.
On Tuesday, the SA State Government announced 2000 fans would be allowed to attend the Showdown at Adelaide Oval.
Sloane said the few fans in attendance would be incredibly grateful.
“No one has called me for a ticket just yet… but I’d imagine there might be a few calls later in the week,” he said.
“In terms of atmosphere it might not be huge, but this is all about the fans, those diehard members who get to go along and will do everything to support the Club.”
Adelaide will face the Power on Saturday night at 7.10pm (ACST).
