Adelaide forward Lachlan Gollant never struggled to settle at the Club.
The youngest player on Adelaide’s playing list has been welcome with open arms since arriving via pick 48 in last year’s National Draft.
“The first thing I noticed was how welcoming the boys were,” Gollant told The Optus Crows Show.
“It felt like I was coming to a place I’d been before… it didn’t feel like a new environment.
“It was a pretty easy transition, I’ve loved being here so far.”
But just months into his AFL career, the 18-year-old returned home to Victoria for the AFL shutdown period.
Although difficult, making the trek back and forth between Adelaide and Melbourne, Gollant has tried to embrace the positives.
“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, going back and forth,” he said.
“It was good to get home and spend time with my family, spend a bit more time in the gym with footy not on.
“But now the boys are back and really excited to start playing again.”
CLUB CHAMPION: Hatchard takes top honour
Gollant has been training up forward for the Crows and embraced the teachings of development coach Matthew Wright, as well as senior players Tom Lynch and Taylor Walker.
“Matty Wright has looked after me and spent a fair bit of time with me,” Gollant said.
“Also Tom Lynch and Tex give out great advice, I just try to take on board as much as I can.”
Also on The Optus Crows Show this week, a look back at the Club’s biggest win and a piece of insight from coach Matthew Nicks.
