Adelaide players will need to maintain their fitness levels during the AFL suspension period, Crows General Manager of High Performance Matt Hass has said.
With the players away from the Club for at least the next month, at-home exercise routines will be crucial in keeping them in shape.
“This isn’t annual leave, and the boys are clear on that,” Hass told AFC Media.
“We’ve had to take action on the run, getting information from the Government and the Club.
“From there, it was about building out programs for our players as they disperse all over the country.
“We had to work very quickly as a team to pull those together… we had to get players home as soon as we could.”

Adelaide-based players raided the Crows gym before retreating home, ensuring they could continue a fitness routine.
“The guys in Adelaide, we’ve done our best to deliver equipment,” Hass said.
“The AFC Gym is pretty bare at the moment, we got a lot out of that.
“Guys interstate needed to make do with commercial gyms being closed.
“As best we can, we’ve relied on our networks to pull that together.”

The AFL has been suspended until at least May 31, however that date could extend given the uncertain circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hass expected clubs to be given around one month’s notice to prepare players for the season to recommence.
“The guys are really clear on that, they know four weeks isn’t a huge amount of time,” he said.
“There’s no real scope to drop away from where they left.”
