Adelaide captain Rory Sloane believes AFL games being played behind closed doors “could happen”.

Across the globe, sporting competitions are being played in empty stadiums due to the rapid spread of coronavirus.

Sloane was adamant, however, that fans still receive a show - albeit from their own homes instead of at the ground.

“It could happen, we’re seeing it happen across the globe,” Sloane told Triple M’s The Rush Hour with Bernie and Jars.

“The game will still be televised… that’s the most important part, that you still put on a cracking show for the fans.

“You’ll certainly hear what blokes have to say to you (on the ground), Nicksy might end up on the bench yelling messages to us.”

AYCE SIGNS: Crows fill final roster spot

Earlier this week, the AFL held its annual Captain’s Day at Marvel Stadium and asked players which teams could make finals.

Sloane was unfazed that none of the other 17 captains tipped the Crows in their top eight.

“I like that, I like that everyone is doubting us,” he said.

“Internally we know what we are capable of.

“I’m more than comfortable with the experience we have through the spine of the ground and these young kids are going to add an element of speed and excitement.”

QUIZ: Did these Crows ever play together?

Adelaide will face Sydney at Adelaide Oval on Saturday March 21 in the Club’s opening match of the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
