Adelaide defender Brodie Smith has identified Nat Fyfe, Elliot Yeo and former teammate Charlie Cameron as the players he’s most excited to line-up alongside in next week’s State of Origin match.
Smith will feature in the All Stars side, alongside Rory Laird and Taylor Walker, on February 28.
On Triple M’s The Rush Hour, Smith said the game would be a good experience for players.
“I got straight on the phone to Charlie Cameron… (we’re) really looking forward to playing together,” Smith said.
“For us footy heads, to play with guys like Fyfe and Yeo, the superstars of the competition… it will be amazing to be around that sort of talent.
“I’d written myself off, didn’t think I’d get the call up.
“Very pleased to get the phone call and pumped that guys like Lairdy and Tex are going to be over there with me.”

Crows captain Rory Sloane will also feature in the match, but for the Victorian side.
Several Adelaide players who didn’t make the cut were not overly happy, according to Smith.
“Brad and Matt (Crouch) were a bit flat today, as was big Daniel Talia,” he said.
“There are definitely a few guys who are being managed and looked after as well, guys like Nic Naitanui, Jeremy McGovern.
“Tex was up and about, as is Lairdy.”

Regarding a genuine State of Origin competition, Smith said he would “love to represent the state”.
“To get out there in that guernsey would be huge,” he said.
“It kills me to say but if you put that SA side next to the Victorian side, it could get a little bit ugly.
“It would be great to get out there and play a real State of Origin tournament.”
