Young AFLW hopefuls will receive expert tutelage from Crows AFLW vice-captain Courtney Cramey when they feature in the first Women’s Showdown on Saturday.
The game at Richmond Oval is the first of two matches in an exhibition series that will showcase the best talent in the SANFLW.
Players will represent Port Adelaide and the Crows under the same SANFL alignment as the Next Generation Academies.
Cramey will lead a team consisting of players from Sturt, Glenelg, North Adelaide and Central District, while Port will be represented by South Adelaide, Norwood, West Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens players.
Having enjoyed coaching at Under-18 State level, Cramey jumped at the chance to coach the exhibition team.
“I enjoy getting the best out of people, I love footy and teaching the game, so coaching is perfect,” Cramey said.
“It’s eye opening, different and a challenge that I am enjoying.”

Cramey said the game is a fantastic opportunity for the draft hopefuls to showcase their skills.
“A fair few of them have ambitions to be drafted in AFLW, so it is another chance for them to put their capabilities on display,” Cramey said.
“The girls get to display what they are good at, have fun doing it and get another chance to play footy now that SANFLW is over.”
A number of players featured in the SANFLW Team of the Year will kit up for the Crows, including:
- Ellen Fauser, Lucy Bellinger and Cailtin Gould from Glenelg
- Nadia Von Bertouch and Amber Ward from North
- Maya Rigter from Sturt
- Kimberly Fry from Central District
The SANFLW’s leading goalkicker Kelly Barltrop (North) will line up at full forward for Adelaide.
Former Crows AFLW listed players will also runout, including 2017 premiership player Georgia Bevan (Sturt) and Katelyn Rosenzweig (Central).
Former GWS player Britt Perry (North) will also play and bring grunt to the midfield.

Cramey was pleased with the squad at her disposal.
“These players are in this squad because they are the best of the best,” she said.
“They all come with great football weapons.
“We are all about how we can connect quickly off the field, to enable their strengths to be displayed on the field.”
The Women’s Showdown will start at 12.25pm and act as a curtain raiser for the SANFL match between the Crows and West Adelaide at 2.40pm.
Crows members can get into both games for free with their membership cards.
