Adelaide’s No. 33 Brodie Smith has labelled Brad Crouch’s cricket skills as “disappointing” in the build up to the T20 Showdown on February 2.

The Crows side trained at Adelaide Oval on Friday with Smith fronting the media in the middle of the nets session.

“Brad (Crouch) has been disappointing,” Smith said jokingly.

“He’s pumped himself up and he’s looking terrible today.

“Sloaney has come in fresh, he doesn’t play cricket at all and he’s been ok.

“Sloaney has impressed, Brad has been a let down.”

Aside from Sloane, another Crow who’s caught Smith’s eye in the cricket nets was young forward Darcy Fogarty.

“He got selected just off character, but he’s come out and hit them really well,” Smith said.

“I think Lynchy said he’s promoted himself to almost opening.

“Full credit to the Fog.”

Player appraisal aside, Smith said fans should expect a genuine contest in the T20 clash.

“We’re doing it for a great cause, and to have a bit of banter with the Port Adelaide boys and a Showdown away from footy is going to be great fun,” he said.

“It’s all fun and games now, but I reckon once we get out there on Adelaide Oval we won’t be able to help ourselves.

“We’re really looking forward to it.

On Wednesday, Adelaide announced eight players from the senior side - spearheaded by captain Tom Lynch - would compete in the charity match to raise money for people affected by the bushfires.

Tickets to the match are still available and can be purchased here.
