A few thousand fans turned out for the Club’s training session at AAMI Stadium on Wednesday.

It was the first training session open to the public since the sudden passing of Crows Senior Coach Phil Walsh last Friday.

The majority of the crowd were draped in blue, red and gold, but there were also supporters from other clubs in the stands in a reflection of the community’s unified response to the tragedy.

Fans cheered as the players kicked goals, and broke out into the Club song as the team made its way off the track to sign autographs, pose for photos and accept well wishes. Crow Scott Thompson thanked fans for their ongoing support.

“It was fantastic to see so many supporters come out and watch us train today," Thompson said.

"You look back since the event, and the amount of love and support that we’ve seen from the whole football community … and even the extended community, supporters and fans has been overwhelming for everyone.”

Many supporters also paused for a moment at the front of the Club’s administration building where a memorial to the man known as ‘Walshy’ continues to grow.

Fans in Perth will also have an opportunity to see the team train at a light, open training session at Domain Stadium at approximately midday on Friday (July 10). The session will run approximately 45 minutes.

SA supporters are encouraged to come down to RundleMall (under the Gawler Place canopy) on Thursday, July 9, and Friday, July 10,from 10am each day to record their messages of support for the team as they head westfor their Round 15 clash with West Coast.

On behalf of the Adelaide Football Club, we would like to thank everyone for their support and kind words and tributes in this extremely difficult time. Our thoughts remain with the Walsh family.
