Learn one song per month - that’s the personal goal for Wayne Milera Junior on the guitar in 2020.
Speaking to AFC Media ahead of 2020, Milera revealed his New Year’s resolution for the next 12 months.
“I want to learn one song a month on the guitar,” Milera said.
“I play a bit of guitar but do it for fun.
“I don’t know many songs at the moment… I know a few.”
The 22-year-old started playing guitar in high school but admits he never took it too seriously.
Although he is yet to plan his 12 songs, Milera says he has an idea of what he might like to learn.
“I’m not exactly sure which songs I’ll learn first, but I’ve got a few artists I like,” Milera said.
“I love learning intros to songs, there are a few old country songs I really like.”
Beyond his musical skills, Milera also hoped to spend more time with family and friends.
“Over the year, when I have time away from footy, I’d love to see everyone a bit more,” he said.
On the football field, Milera said his biggest goal was to play every game in 2020 barring injury.
The SA local played 17 games in 2019 and averaged 18.2 touches, 4.82 contested possessions and a career-best 3.06 tackles per game.
Milera will enter his fifth AFL season in 2020 after playing his 50th match in 2019.
