Adelaide had five of the top six Fantasy scorers on the ground against Sydney on Saturday night, with a familiar face leading the way for the Crows.
For the second week in a row, Scott Thompson was Adelaide’s best Fantasy performer with a 113 coming from 27 possessions and an equal-game high 10 tackles.
The tough midfielder just continues to rack up big numbers in his 16th season of AFL footy. He’s currently ranked 12th in the League for average Fantasy points per game (110) and is the ninth best midfielder overall.
Thommo also continues to smash his break evens each week despite his lofty $555,000 price tag. He’s likely to rise in value again against the Hawks on Friday night with a target of just 83.
Thompson into Team of the Week
Fellow midfielder Rory Sloane produced his biggest Fantasy score of the season. The courageous onballer was just one point behind Thompson on 112 from 24 touches and 10 tackles.
Sloane is one of the best value Fantasy players on the market at the moment at only $477,000. A quiet start to the season by his lofty Fantasy standards has seen his price fall by $50k. But it won’t take him long to rebound back beyond the half-million dollar mark.
Richard Douglas could provide even better bang for your buck after he posted a season-best 107 against the Swans on Saturday night. Dougy’s score was his biggest output since Round Two last season, where he notched a 112 against Collingwood.
The 2010 Club Champion is generously priced at only $428,000 and will take a break even of just 66 into Friday night’s clash with Hawthorn. He’s a strong option for coaches looking to pocket some cash but maintain their overall scoring potential over the next few rounds.
Eddie Betts was the fourth and final Crow to crack the Fantasy ton at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night. The livewire forward bagged four goals from 19 possessions and also laid five tackles for his 104.
Betts has been spending more time up the ground so far this season, which is helping his Fantasy output. He’s kicked at least one goal in every game and has scored two triple-figure totals already, plus a handy 91 in Adelaide’s Round One loss to the Kangaroos.
The Crows will be looking for another big performance from the gifted goalkicker on Friday night after he was well held the last time Adelaide met Hawthorn.
Tom Lynch (98) and Rory Atkins (94) were next in line for Adelaide in Round Four.
Lynch boasts a healthy Fantasy average of 96 points per game – the fifth best of all pure forwards in the competition. Atkins’ score was the best of his young career and could see his ownership rise significantly in the buildup to ANZAC Round.
