It was a winning start for Adelaide’s Fan Fantasy team as our squad defeated North Melbourne in a nail-biter by 19 points.
Adelaide sits top of the Fan Fantasy table after posting the League’s highest score of the weekend with 2065 Fantasy points, well above the average of 1913 in the League’s opening round.
Crows fans deserve commendation for their decision to stick by Gary Ablett with our captaincy last weekend. The Suns’ skipper posted a below-par 80 points in Round Two, but repaid our faith with a huge 146 points in Gold Coast’s QClash thrashing over Brisbane.
Hawk duo Sam Mitchell (121 points) and Matthew Suckling (117) were heavy-hitters for us in defence while our own Sam Jacobs (109) was the highest-scoring ruckman of either side in our clash with the Roos.
Our squad continued its upward trend with bargain players including Xavier Ellis (76), Matthew Crouch (69), Jared Polec (62), James Aish (60), Luke McDonald (101) and Joe Daniher (71) all adding significant cash into our Fantasy coffers.
We will have numerous downgrade opportunities in the future as many of our mid-priced players, including Matthew Jaensch (96), David Swallow (99) and Dom Tyson (62) also continue to swell in value.
Our attention now turns to West Coast for our next head-to-head matchup this weekend.
Jay Kennedy-Harris is beginning to become a concern for us on our forward line bench. Paul Roos has shown he has a cruel sense of humour in starting the young Demon as the substitute in all three of Melbourne’s matches so far this season.
Can we rely on ‘Roosy’ at the selection table any longer? Vote below on whether we keep Kennedy-Harris or trade him for another cheap forward who will receive greater opportunities. Patrick Ambrose has been included as a risky option after missing last week with quad soreness given his outstanding breakeven of -22.
We also need your help in deciding who should replace Billy Longer, as the St Kilda ruckman has failed to break into the Saints’ best 22 so far this season.
The final poll below is for us to select our captain for the upcoming round.
