Not one Crow polled votes from the coaches in Adelaide’s Round Three loss to Sydney.
Midfielder Luke Parker, who kicked four goals from 26 possessions, scored a maximum 10 votes from Brenton Sanderson and John Longmire.
Lance Franklin also booted four goals to earn eight votes. The leading possession-getter on the ground, Josh Kennedy received five votes while defensive duo Nick Malceski and Nick Smith each collected three. Small forward Ben McGlynn, who had the tagging role on Patrick Dangerfield, received the remaining vote in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year award.
Geelong captain Joel Selwood collected another eight votes to replace St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt at the top of the overall leaderboard after three rounds. Selwood (24 votes) leads Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett and Essendon midfielder Brendon Goddard, who are on 20 votes, and Riewoldt on 19.
