The Adelaide Football Club will be hosting a tin rattle at the gates for this weekend’s Showdown.
The Club and Crows Children’s Foundation have partnered with Save the Children to man all entrances encouraging supporters to help us show our support for the children of Nepal.
Earlier this year, Crows players and staff met Dr Tsherling Lama, who is the Country Director for Child Reach Nepal. Dr Tsherling Lama inspired us with his inspirational story of growing up in a Nepalese village, being the first in his village to learn to read, and his journey through education to being a world leader in supporting children in need.
As a result, several players were considering visiting with Dr Tscherling Lama in his village at the end of the season to contribute to his work. Sadly, this village is now completely destroyed and as a Club we feel compelled to help.
Right now, Save the Children is the largest children charity on ground. Our teams are on the frontline with children and their families, coordinating an emergency response. They are distributing essential items such as shelter, household and hygiene kits to those hardest hit by the earthquake.
Through a partnership with Save the Children and Child Reach Nepal we will work together to provide support to vulnerable children and their families desperately in need.
