Adelaide may need more goals from Eddie Betts, but Crows assistant coach David Teague says the Club is still happy with his overall contribution to the team's performance.
Betts was in mercurial goalkicking form earlier this season, booting hauls of four, five, five and six in rounds four through seven.
But that 20-goal month has been followed by one in which he's managed just seven.
In his past two matches, Betts has kicked two goals, taken two marks and has averaged fewer than 10 disposals a game for the first time this year.
Still, Betts had more score assists (5) than any other Crow against Carlton and Hawthorn and remains the Club leader in the statistic (23). He's also laid five tackles in his past two outings and remains Adelaide's top forward for pressure acts.
Teague confirmed Betts’ impact often went deeper than the scoreboard, and backed his star forward to respond ahead of Adelaide’s clash with the Lions on Saturday.
"Eddie obviously had a great period of form, we'd never expect him to stay at that level but yeah [his form's] probably dropped lower than the standard we would like and he would like," Teague said.
"[That's] more important – he knows that.
"As long as we're getting the team things out of him, he's setting up the structures well then we're very happy."
Crows skipper Taylor Walker has also battled fluctuating form in recent weeks.
He's kicked 3.6 in his past three outings; had it not been for his inaccuracy he could be right in the running for this year's Coleman Medal.
Walker's ranked second in the League for marks inside 50, but his 27.18 ranks him ninth for goals.
Teague said the captain's work for the team had remained sound and backed his radar to return against the Lions.
"He started the year and he had the wobbles and then he had a period through the middle where we needed a goal he was the one that was kicking straight and then the last couple of weeks," he said.
"He's done a lot of work the last couple of weeks and I've got no doubt that he'll be very good with his set shots in front of goal this week.
"I thought last week he actually looked good; he passed that one to Richard Douglas across the face of goal – could have easily had a shot but he was putting team first.
"It's not always going to be his day to kick goals but when he does get the chances we want to make sure he makes the most of it."
Walker boarded the plane to Brisbane on Friday morning with barely any sign of the corked thigh that saw him subbed from last Thursday night's loss to Hawthorn.
Teague tipped him to play without any sort of padding protecting his thigh on Saturday.
