Adelaide’s recruiting team has now switched its focus to Friday’s AFL rookie draft.
The Crows have two vacancies on the rookie list and will have their first pick at No 13, then at 31.
Friday’s rookie draft will close a trading and drafting period that has so far added eight new players to the Crows’ lists.
Curtly Hampton, Dean Gore, Paul Seedsman and Troy Menzel were secured through the trade period; Hugh Greenwood and Alex Keath signed as Category B rookies; and 18-year-olds Wayne Milera and Tom Doedee were drafted on Tuesday night.
The AFL pre-season draft starts at 10.30am SA time and will be followed by the rookie draft from 10.40am.
Eight current primary listed Crows started their AFL careers as rookies and three former Crows – Michael Doughty, Ben Rutten and Nathan Bassett – reached the 200-game mark.
Jake Kelly is the latest Crows rookie to earn an upgrade to the primary list. Charlie Cameron, Josh Jenkins, Matthew Jaensch, Kyle Hartigan, Ricky Henderson, Sam Jacobs and 2015 Club Champion runner-up Rory Laird all started their careers on a rookie list.
Other former Crows rookies include Jason Porplyzia, 2008 club champion Nathan Bock, Sydney premiership defender Marty Mattner, Jared Petrenko, James Gallagher, Ian Callinan and 1998 Crows premiership ruckman Ben Marsh.
