Adelaide remains one of the most relevant AFL Fantasy sides of 2015 after another big weekend for several players.
Despite the disappointing result in Showdown XXXVIII, three Crows posted triple-figure totals.
Patrick Dangerfield continued his solid start to the year with a 120-point performance against the Power - his biggest Fantasy score of the season.
It was the two-time All Australian’s third ton of 2015. He laid seven tackles and collected 36 disposals at Adelaide Oval on Sunday – his highest possession-count since Round 17, 2014 against Hawthorn.
Dangerfield traditionally scores well against Gold Coast and has a generous break even of just 77 heading into Saturday’s clash. ‘Danger’ banked 116 points the last time Adelaide played at Metricon Stadium and could be a solid captaincy choice for Round Six.
Forward Eddie Betts also had a Fantasy field day against the Power last weekend.
Betts posted 114 points from 19 possessions, seven marks and five goals. Three behinds cost the elite goalsneak an even bigger total.
His second triple-figure score of the year saw the former Blue rank No.5 of all genuine forwards (non-DPP) for the round. Betts has rewarded coaches handsomely so far in 2015, adding almost $60k to his starting price.
Evergreen midfielder Scott Thompson continued his stellar Fantasy season with his third consecutive 100-plus score.
Thompson has been the form Fantasy player of the competition since his return to the senior side last month. He’s averaging 114 points and 31 disposals per game.
Like Dangerfield, ‘Thommo’ is another Crow who feasts on the Suns. Who could forget his career-best 51-possession game against Gold Coast from Round 22, 2011, where he banked a phenomenal 151 points. Incredibly, the total was only the third-best of his career.
Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Tom Lynch continue to be two of the best-value buys of the year.
Ellis-Yolmen scored 99 points on Sunday, adding a further $50k to his price for a total rise of $214,000 since the start of the season. And he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
A history of inconsistent scores has scared many away from Tom Lynch (90) despite his superb start to the year. Just two per cent of all Fantasy coaches have the 24-year-old in their lineup.
But Lynch’s total against the Power was his fourth consecutive score above the 90-point mark. With a break even of just 43 points, there’s still time to get him into your side.
Round Six sees the first round of player position updates for 2015, which could see several Crows gain the added value of dual-position status.
Dangerfield, Lynch, Betts and Brodie Smith are just some of the contenders who could benefit given their versatility so far this season.
