Lisa Wilkinson was the special guest at the Crows Foundation Ladies Lunch yesterday at the Westpac Centre, AAMI Stadium.
The vibrant and very entertaining morning show host was asked to be an ambassador for the Club in 2012 when the Today Show filmed their program as an outside broadcast from AAMI Stadium.
When asked if she enjoys her role as a Crows Ambassador she responds by saying, “Are you kidding? Have you seen how good looking they all are? And they play a darn fine game of footy as well. I just love the spirit of the club…it’s a real community, and I’m so glad to be a part of it all!”
In her first official function for the Club, Lisa spoke to 195 people at the annual Crows Foundation Ladies Lunch yesterday describing her career, husband and juggling life as a wife, mother, daughter and full time worker.
Lisa is involved with several charities and believes strongly in the pay it forward way of living. “I think if you are lucky enough in life to have been given great opportunities - and I have - it’s really important to pay it forward,” she says.
Unfortunately, Lisa doesn’t come to Adelaide as often as she would like but she does enjoy some South Australian favourites including Haighs.
The Crows Foundation presented Lisa a small box of SA delights yesterday as well as a box of FruChocs to thank her for her time and generosity. “I am already a huge Haigh’s addict…and yesterday I was introduced to FruChocs. Who’s been keeping those a secret from me? I think I arrived home with eight bags. I can’t say there is quite the same number left.”
All proceeds of the event went to the Crows Foundation's purchase of a Toyota vehicle for HeartKids SA and their families to use while staying in Melbourne for life changing heart surgery. HeartKids volunteers will be manning all gates this Saturday before the game for the Club’s annual tin rattle.
All funds raised from the tin rattle will also support the grant for HeartKids so please give generously.
Lisa will be watching the boys in action as they take on the reigning premiers tomorrow - she has high hopes for the boys saying, “I reckon our boys will be able to get it across the line. GO THE CROWS”!
